It repels wind, offers extra warmth when worn alone, and is compact enough to be easily worn under a rain jacket. The 42g Cordura® nylon outer fabric features ripstop reinforcements, resulting in durability that belies its weight. The second layer on the shoulders extends its lifespan and makes it more resistant to weather conditions. Descended from the material developed for parachutes during World War II, this ultralight fabric has revolutionized outdoor gear ever since. The 60g PrimaLoft® Gold insulation system is designed to faithfully replicate the compressibility and softness of goose down, maintaining 98% of its insulating capacity when wet.
