The Red Wing Shoes 8849 Classic Moc Toe in Black Prairie is a classic Red Wing Shoes moccasin and is manufactured in Red Wing, Minnesota. The Red Wing 6" Moc Toe boot was originally designed for hunters and farmers in the early 1950s. Red Wing's name "Moc Toe" comes from "Moccasin," the traditional Algonquin native term for the U-shaped toe. The Red Wing 8849 shoes are made of "Black Prairie" leather, with a smooth and polished appearance. The Red Wing 8849 boot has a white Cushion Crepe Wedge sole with Traction Tred tread and offers maximum grip and exceptional comfort. The Red Wing 8849 boot features contrasting white stitching. The Red Wing 8849 originally featured round black taslan laces, but try the gold/light brown laces as well.
